On Saturday, 28th of March, The General Federation of Workers’ Unions in Iraq conducted a meeting at its headquarters with the presence of the President of the GFWUI and Women general office and a number of union leaders, the meeting addressed the evaluation of the meeting with the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and the results of this meeting.

Our Colleague Hassiba, presented a detailed report on her participation in the workshop set up by the Arabic Women’s Network (Arab Federation of Trade Unions) in Tunis, discussion of the report took place the needs to support working woman was addressed.

In the other hand, our Colleague Abbas Abdul Rahman presented a report on his participation in the workshop which was held in Amman at the invitation of the International Labour Organization on children labor.

Nidhal Mohammed Salman, the secretary of the Labor Women Affairs of the Union facilitated the meeting, and discussed to develop a mechanism of action for the defense of women’s rights, especially in countries that are exposing wars and terrorism, and the communication need between Iraqi unions and Arab unions.
