Dhaka activists stands in solidarity with the Iraqi Social Forum
On 17 September at 11:00 a.m. Participatory Development Action Program (PDAP)arranged a rally to show the solidarity with Iraqi Social Forum. Near about 60 participants (including men, women, girls and boys) joined at the rally with holding a banner where there was written “Another Iraq is possible with Peace, Human rights and Social justice”. During walking on the road, participants were shouting “We do not want war, we want peace”. Rally was finished at 11:45.
After finishing the rally 20 grassroots leaders and 5 young girls and boys came to PDAP’s office and attended at the discussion programm.
Ms. Quazi Baby, Executive Director of PDAP explained about the South Asian Social Forum which was held in 2011 at Dhaka University of Bangladesh. PDAP also participated In the event. The issue was “Housing rights for slum dwellers”.
She also explained about the war affected situation of Iraq and how the Iraqi people trying to overcome the situation. All participants were sympathized to hear the situation and they showed their solidarity with the affected Iraqi people.
During the discussion through skype, four grassroots leaders Ms. Madina, Ms. abida, Ms. Akbari Ms. Noorjahan spoke on their sufferings where they are living and what they do to overcome the situation.
Besides, two young girls (Shirin and Ferdoushi) and two young boys (Mehdi and Noor) spoke about their feelings and showed their solidarity with the Iraqi young people.

On afternoon we organized another discussion programme with slum dwellers and some NGO workers at PDAP’s learning centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Same issue we shared with them. On behalf of PDAP Ms. Quazi Baby, Ms. Jahanara and Salma spoke at the discussion program.
